WorldWideConnected.com: I noticed you had writer credits for the 2pac track “Dump’n” on the new Pac album. How did that come about?

Well, I did the original song with him 10 years ago, it was me, Pac, Kurupt and Nutso, and Daz on the beat. And we all came up with the concept together, actually I named the song (and I start off the original). But its always business first, so Universal thought it would be best (because the songs were dated, and everybody had heard it on the bootlegs) to redo it with new mainstream artists and new production, but still give all the original artists their due credit as far as royalties, publishing and songwriting, etc. and im all for that, cuz like I said im a business man, and just being on a Pac album, even though that was my boy and none of the cats on the new album ever met him a day in their life, I was still honoured by having my name in the credits, let alone making a couple hundred thousand off something I did ten years ago.

Label Partnership Binds Jerry Heller, Tupac Producer Johnny “J” and Pablito Vasquez

Jerry Heller, the former manager of the multi-platinum rap group NWA, and the co-founder of Ruthless Records with the late revered rapper, Eric “Eazy-E” Wright, announced today that he has just signed an agreement, forming a new record label with veteran record producer Johnny “J,” who produced over 150 songs with Tupac Shakur, which include mega-hits like “How Do U Want It” and “Hit ‘Em Up.” Heller’s third partner in the new venture is Pablito Vasquez, who will serve as a liaison between the artistic and the business ends of the company, and heads up Streetlife Records.

States Heller, “Our goal is to bring back economic integrity to the music business. The record industry was supposed to be a win-win situation between the artists and the labels. The way the business is structured now, however, many artists on major labels have to sell close to a million and a half units to recoup and break even. That is not what our label will be about. The music industry is supposed to be about everyone involved making money.” The label’s legal representation will be handled by Jay L. Cooper, Chair, West Coast Entertainment Division, Greenberg Traurig, LLP.

A master producer on the music industry’s A-list, Johnny “J” has created tracks on albums that have collectively sold more than one hundred million copies worldwide. His legendary production work with artists including 2Pac has made him one of the most successful record producers in terms of creating radio driven hits that stand the test of time. Says Johnny “J,” who owns the production company, Klock Work Entertainment, “Every day I am heard on the radio throughout the country, and that has been consistent throughout the years. I decided to partner with Jerry Heller, who is a major figure, responsible for the success of West Coast rap music. The fire would not have been set off without Jerry providing the business acumen.”

While Johnny “J," with his nineteen years of recording experience, brings his spectacular production as an ingredient to the label, Heller says that Pablito Vasquez brings the street aspect to the label. “This is the label where corporate meets street,” emphasizes Heller. Vasquez says, “I will help oversee things on both the creative and the business ends, deal with contracts with Jerry, and I will work in an intercessory role at the label.” He adds, “This label will not be tied down to or limited to certain musical styles or genres. This is going to be way past the hoods. It is going to be about the streets, but we will release music and artists that will transcend both cultures and transcend neighborhoods. We are going to be about where we came from, but we are not just limited to a hood mentality. Our minds and our music go way beyond that,” notes Vasquez. Johnny “J” adds, “Just like Tupac’s music, this will be universal.”

The new entity will be called Streetlife/Klock Work Records, with the three principals being equal partners.

Heller, who is a five decade veteran of the music business, recently released the book, “Ruthless: A Memoir,” published by Simon And Schuster, also teaches a class about the intricacies of the music business at UCLA. “I get hit up for management and label partnerships at least a dozen times a day,” concedes Heller, who offhandedly mentions that he has given business advice to countless major artists. “This new label has the perfect combination for a partnership.”

Heller also says the new label will be similar in many respects to the Ruthless label, which he managed in its heyday, prior to Wright’s death. “The new label will focus on working with one album at a time, with more upcoming artists waiting in the wings. Most independent labels over-extend themselves, leading to failure.” Heller maintains that another similarity of the label involves its compositional aspects and the company’s designated functions. “Part of the Ruthless model was having great production, a strong business vision, and a deep connection with the streets.”

Now not much is known about the Tupac written film, Live 2 Tell. He wrote it back in jail and there have been documents in various books. David Banner is rumored to take part, and the movie is set to be released some time in 2008.

An AllHipHop.com interview with actor Julito McCullum (The Wire) was interesting as he answered a question, that regarded Live 2 Tell.

"AllHipHop.com: So in terms of other things you’re doing outside of The Wire is acting your main focus?

Julito: Yes, acting is my main focus. Hands down. Outside of The Wire I’m just pretty much out there promoting myself and putting my face out there. Because right now when people see me they know me as Namand from The Wire they don’t know me as Julito. I’m working on getting people to say that’s Julito. There’s a role I’m tryin to get [in a film] called, Live to Tell. Tupac wrote it and I feel like if I get that role I’ll break that wall down. Below is a youtube audio of it backwards so you can hear. YOu hear him saying it around secound 18 or 19. Pretty stupid in my opinion, i mean if you listen to the whole album backwards your bound to find pac say something backwards that means something by concidence. Tupac Live At The House Of Blues DVD Review + Full Clip

About a month ago i bought the Tupac Live At The House Of Blues DVD, which is supossed to be one of Tupac's last filmed live performances which occured July 4 1996 on Sunset Blvd. Everyone knows that Artists are most alive on stage and seeing them live is always amazing, but i feel that the DVD doesnt completly convey the live tupac spirit and charisma.
Im not denying the energy and uniqueness that comes through as soon as Tupac comes on stage, but his presence isnt felt nearly as much as seeing him really LIVE. This concert was really at the peak of the Badboy Deathrow drama and before such songs as Troublesome 96 and Hit'em Up there are many classic battle lines throws into the crowd.
Overall its a good DVD, well worth the money, the only problem is that Tupac is more of an opening act in the whole concert. He is the first act and is only on about 15 minutes out of the whole DVD. Is no doubt the best song now on Pac's Life!The intro is hot and classic Tupac and what we have been busting to hear for a good few years, Pac starts it off with 'Fuck all these motherfuckas talkin all this bullshit.......' and its an instant smile to your face. This is what 2pac fans have been waiting for and what fans deserve.Props to the few that ordered the Japan version of Pac's Life you have done yourself a big favour and have gotten a classic Pac track.Scared Straight is the unused song from the classic first 2pac album "2Pacalypse Now". It features a tight intro, 2 verses from Pac previously UNHEARD and that raw classic 91' Pac flava.The original of this track is produced by Money B and Fuze of Digitial Underground and not Big D as MrMakaveli.net first thought and was told, it seems Big D also made a version of the song for the album that didnt get used.This of course is not OG and has been remixed and its a pretty decent remix at that, I cant help but feel the OG (no I havent heard) is some wack out dated shit, this beat brings 2Pacs lyrics to life AND although the beat is simple its dark and eiree, just what us fans have been wanting.Its amazing to hear these verses spat from Pac in 91 and still mentioning 'Pac dont give a fuck I got too many enemies' surely a reference to his song 'I just dont give a fuck' especially as he references the song 'Tha lunitic'.

ConclusionThis is classic 2pac and what we have been wanting for a longgggg time. No doubt this is now the best song on Pac's Life, and although the album is good one can only think how dope it would of been if they used more unheard songs.This is 2Pac all the way through, from intro, to the verses to the hooks to the outro Well done Amaru and thank you for blessing the Pac fans with this.

Here is an article i found, claiming that Tupac Is Overrated. Its pretty interesting read, im gonna have to disagree on a couple of points but overall i do agree some aspects of Tupac Shakur are blown out of proportion and overrated. Well discuss that soon.

Tupac Shakur Is Way Overrated

For some reason, a few readers of this site have labeled me as being a hater of the late Tupac Shakur. I know, I know, I’m from the East Coast and happened to be down with P. Diddy and the Bad Boy crew (no homo) during the middle of the East/ West coast beef, but I never saw myself as a hater. As a matter of fact, one of my favorite hip hop songs ever is “Hit Em Up” where he basically told me “fuck you too” for being down with Bad Boy. Anyways, I was extremely saddened by Mr. Shakur’s untimely demise back in 1996 and even commemorated his death by purchasing all of his cd’s that I didn’t own at the time. At the time of his death, there was a lot of talk about how dude was a poet, a leader of our generation and so on and so on. Of course I associated all this talk with the type of sentimental shit that’s said upon someone’s passing. As time passed though, I became intrigued by how dude was becoming some type of legend. I also became annoyed as fuck.
Last week, I was going through all my songs on my ipod and since all of 2pac’s material came up first, I decided that I would give dude a second chance and listen to his music, just in case I had been unfairly judging his status as a hip hop icon. I listened to his first lp, “2Pacalypse Now”, released in 1991, and believe me when I emphatically say that that album sounds like pure effin garbage and I’m somewhat pissed off that I shelled out some of my hard earned cash on this piece of possum shit. There’s like no decent sounding track on it and I can’t decipher what’s worse, his feeble attempt to rhyme or the piss poor sub par production. Even the “breakout” hit single “Brenda’s Got A Baby” was pure kaa kaa, but being that that was like the first rap song dedicated in it’s entirety to every hood rat ghetto single mother across the country, it was deemed to be prolific by every baby momma alive. Eff that, that shit was weak by any hip hop classic standard. “2Pacalypse Now” got a expeditious delete from my library and I realize I must have been pretty effin amped up a year ago, upon getting a new ipod , what with me importing trash like this unto my itunes library.
Next up was his 2nd Lp, “Strictly For My N.I.G.G.A.S” released in 1993. First and foremost, the title deserves a huge NO HOMO sticker on the cd cover, what with some gay ass title like that. Secondly, I don’t know if the periods embedded in “N.I.G.G.A.S.” is supposed to mean something encoded or some strange Tupac form of Ebonics, whatever, I couldn’t give a rats scrotum about it’s meaning as it’s just plain stupid, then and now!!! The only song on that album that comes even close to being hot is “I Get Around”, but I always saw that as being a Digital Underground song featuring Pac as their weed carrying side artist. What with his first LP being all whack, the Underground decided they would help their lil homey out, similar to how Jay Z helps his lil homey Memphis Bleek out every now and then. Production on that song was tight, Pac’s flow improved dramatically overnight, but Shock G stole the show with his classic line “I’m Shock G, the one who put the satin on your panties.” The rest of the album really really really sucked much moose cock and once again I was pissed that I spent some cash on this vile piece of cat vomit. As I expeditiously deleted this crap from my library, I realized that I must have really been emotional when dude died, what with me including this shit in my music collection. Now I know this lp was released shortly after Pac’s “stunning” acting debut “Juice”, and a whole bunch of people got caught up in his portrayal of the “Bishop” character, but to me, his character suffered from a severe case of bi-polar based mental issues and since I actually knew cats like that back in the day in Brooklyn, I wasn’t impressed since they were all mental bitch made niggas until they had a gun in their hands. In addition, since “Juice” was Pac’s movie, why was the hottest song on the actual soundtrack “Know The Ledge” by Eric B. and Rakim? Sheet, Pac’s music was nowhere on the whole effin cd!!! A lot of people bought into it, but I for one didn’t sip the “juice”.
Next up was “Me Against The World” released in 1995. Now I gotta hand it to that nigga Pac, the hype surrounding this album’s release was incredible and effin unheard of at the time. First, dude got all shot up with five hot ones in his ass (no homo) in a New York studio in 1994 and SURVIVES!!! He then checks himself out of the hospital for “security” reasons and also, because he has to make it to court on a rape charge. I remember the image of Pac getting wheeled out of the courthouse days after being shot, all bandaged up with his middle finger pointed straight to the heavens and thinking “What a gully ass crazy muh fucker this dude is turning into!” He then gets sentenced to a bid in jail and starts blaming like the entire East Coast for all of his misfortunes and I’m feeling really sorry for dude, what with his little ass getting all plundered (no homo) all Oz style behind bars. Then the single “Dear Mama” comes out and it’s the first time dude has great production, rapping skills are intact and he’s saying some shit EVERYBODY can relate to. That song right there is genius in the same way Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday” is geniuos, its an effin holiday song that will get played like forever and ever. An effin Mother’s Day song!!!! The only other song on there that’s worthy of a playback is “Old School” what with its tight production and Pac’s improved rhyme cadence. The rest of the album is ehh, lukewarm, not as bad as his prior two releases, but decent enough, especially since the hype behind it made it damn near impossible not to wonder what this crazy ass nigga was talking about!!! Other than the two aforementioned songs, the rest of the lp got deleted from my library.
1996 was the year “All Eyez On Me” hit the streets. With this lp, the world was introduced to the “new and improved” Tupac Shakur. Now down with the infamous Suge Knight and signed to the most dangerous record label of all time, Death Row Records, Pac was geared to drop a classic, especially since he was now armed with one of hip hop’s greatest producers of all time, Dr. Dre. In addition, Pac single handedly orchestrated the weird but historical East/West coast beef and spit venom in every interview about Bad Boy, Diddy, B.I.G. and almost all things East related. Man, dude was like one unstoppable train wreck, impossible to turn away from. Album wise, dude was at the top of his game with the instant classics “Ambitionz As A Ridah” and“Hearts Of Men” (no homo), but now that dude has demonstrated that he has finally learned how to rhyme, he fucks it up by putting too many corny sounding weed carriers on his album. Yeah, cats like Snoop, Richie Rich and even Nate Dogg I can understand, but what in the eff is a Big Syke and a Rappin 4 Tay doing on this joint? Even “Got My Mind Made Up” featuring Method Man and Red Man sounds forced what with Pac declaring civil war on New York. How the fuck did they end up on that track? Finally, I don’t know whose idea it was to make this lp here a double cd, but with too many cuts and too many effin weed carriers, shit just got confusing along the way and would’ve been a better (not classic) cd with like only ten songs.
Finally “The Don Killuminati, The 7 Day Theory” recorded right before and released right after his death in 1996. (I in no way count the hundred or so other albums released after this one, since dude is dead and who knows what the fuck type of “studio magic” went into putting those other shits together.) I have to admit, this was really Tupac at his best, with his new character Makaveli sounding all raw and angry, dude really let you know he had gone way the fuck off the deep end and had become one crazy mother fucker!!!! Beats were tighter than anything ever produced for him, dude had rabid venom in his voice like he was infected by rage, and boy did he let everyone have it, from Jay Z on down to his own producer and label mate Dr. Dre!!!! No one was safe from his insane verbal ass whipping. This was the closest dude had to having a classic album. The reason it fell short? 25 more unknown weed carriers included in almost every effin joint!!!! If I were Pac and had blazing tracks like “Hail Mary” or “Intro/Bomb First”, there’s no way in hell I would allow my whack ass lackey’s to be featured on those tracks, NO EFFIN WAY!!! That being said, this lp had like four solid joints on it, the two I just mentioned along with “Toss It Up” (no homo), “Me And My Girlfriend” and “Against All Odds” which was the perfect song to end his career with. Throw in my favorite “Hit ‘Em Up” which was also recorded around the time this album was being produced (sans weed carriers off course) and you have a decent discography of like 16 strong records (actually 10 strong records once weed carrier and side artist elements are factored in).
After taking all of this in, I can understand the Tupac hype, which comes down to two points:
1) Tupac, if he deserved any accolade, was that throughout the course of his career, he never let go of his initial acting role in “Juice” and lp by lp, he perfected that role until he eventually and actually became that psycho bi-polar crazy ass nigga “Bishop”. If anything, he should have been nominated for a new type of Oscar, one where the actor really and truly becomes the character like five years after the movie came out.
2) You know how every chick with mental/emotional issues loves Sade? Well Tupac touched (no homo) every gangbanger, thug and thug wannabe with mental/ emotional issues. I’m sure most of those dudes are pretty eff’ed up in the head what with them losing homey after homey every other week in ‘da hood due to gunfire and gang warfare. Instead of going to see a therapist (which I can’t even imagine those dudes ever doing) ‘Pac became like their Sade. I even remember some dude posting on this site about how he sits in his truck, listens to Tupac and starts crying like a lil bitch. So yeah I get it, Tupac is like a thug’s Sade,, difference being that Sade dropped like 4 classic albums
That being said, the late Tupac Shakur is waaaaaaaay overrated.

Why Tupac Shakur Will Not Return In Physical Form

Being a huge Tupac Shakur fan for the last many years and a former alive believer, I still think its getting out of hand that a large majority of Tupac Shakur fans still think that Tupac is physically alive living in Cuba or hidden away by the government. Go to any Tupac related site and goto there forum/message board, and 99% of the time, there’s a whole area JUST for alive theories. I decided to end this controversy, hopefully with a two part article which ends the whole mystery and aura.
It’s been 10 years since he died, and the first wave of alive believers thought he would come back during September 13th 2003, 7 years after his death. “The theory, based around eerie clues from the rappers movies (Gridlock'd, Gang Related), references within his songs, scenes from music videos and calculations from his album release dates all seem to point to the number "7". And why would the rapper fake his death to return 7 years later? The plot thickens to explain Tupac's motivation was to make a huge impact that would change the world. Believe it or not, all eyes will be on Pac's return this September 13, 2003.” – Rap news
As you can already see this sadly never happened. After the hype died down, many discouraged believers started to create a new theory, which is the belief that it would be 10 years after his death that we would come back. This is called the (7day+3 day theory) aka 7 + 3 years = the return of Makaveli ( His return in 2006). So far there has been no return of Tupac in physical form, but I guess well have to wait till January 1st, 2007 to put this theory to rest.
Much controversy has been over Tupacs alias Makavelli, influenced by the 16th century Italian philosopher Machiavelli who supposedly advocated faking death to gain political power and evade enemies. Tupac read "The Prince" by Machiavelli and "Discourses upon the First Ten Books of Titus Livy" in jail. In the discourses people claim that Machiavelli advocated faking ones own death. This is NOT true, and is spread and claimed throughout the Alive Community. The only thing actually written in the discourses about it is in Book Two, Chapter XIII which states “Prince who wants to do great things, it is necessary to learn to deceive.”. Machiavelli never faked his death, all he did was teach that in order to win at war, you must learn to deceive. Although some of his soldiers did fake death, it was not under his orders.
Finally, most of the base evidences out there is through his music. Why do new Tupac songs and albums keep coming out? Why is it every year we hear about “exclusive new music”. After all, there have been more releases after his death then before his death. Through interviews with his producer Johnny and other Outlaws who recorded with him, it’s a known fact that Tupac was a very business oriented man. His mother said he had an extraordinary work ethic, and while he loved to party and enjoy himself, he was all business in the studio. After he got out of jail and was signed to Death Row, his concentration to work was three times more focused then it was before. Many days he would record 3 songs a day. Many were unpolished and written on the spot, but they are none the less acapella recordings that can be used and verses manipulated to create new songs. This is a reason for many of the new records, the producers create a new beat to match one of his unreleased tracks or acapellas, and they take 2 verses and release it. If he recorded 3 songs a day even only for 6 months, he would clearly have enough tracks to last a lifetime. One can see that he had recorded enough material before his death, for many albums to come. If each album has an average of 10 songs, we can still expect to see more albums(not including double albums). Also one must take into account that there are usually 2-3 songs on each album that are remix’s or alternative versions. It’s known when he would record that the beats would be made usually before he got to the studio, not to waste time and he would go into and record in usually 15-30 minutes for a son. He would be smoking, and record his vocals 3 times for one track and he would be done, this way if he was missing a word or something due to lack of breath, one of the other recordings would capture it. He recorded the Hit “Hail Mary” in about 30 minutes supposedly. His work ethic was go in and attack his recordings, you can see from some tracks such as thug passion where he messes up, but just goes with the flow. “I’m not trying to turn you into alchohols…. Alcoholics.. hahahah, I’m just trying to turn you into muthafucking thugs.” He clearly stumbles on his words, but what’s so nice is they keep that in the recording and it feels authentic.
More controversy arrives when people start to really examine the lyrics. While there are many strange controversies, many of the lyrics are overanalyzed and put into contexts in which they were never ment to be. Tupac spoke in metaphors, this was his way of expression, so sometimes when he discusses deceiving, plotting and preparing, he is not literally making reference to where, why and when he will “appear & reappear”. So many of his lyrics talked about deceiving, death and leaving this place. There have been references to many things that seemed to happen after his death such as mentioning biggie smalls in one of his songs (The song God Bless The Dead). Turns out the Biggie Smalls he is referring to was not the famous Notorious B.I.G, that died a year after him, but a close friend also named Biggie smalls. Again NOT notorious.
People keep examining his lyrics and the relation to death. The thing was that Tupac was not a happy guy. Near the end of his life he wanted to die, he was waiting for someone to kill him. “All Those records he’s talking about pain” said Shock G from the Digital Underground. He would write about death because he really felt that he would die early, and near the end of his life he really wanted to die. Many of his early poetry showed that he knew he would die young, especially in the poem “In the Event Of My Demise”. "He couldn’t function sober, he didn’t like to anyway. Had to be some Weed there, had to be some Hennessey, had to be some drink, had to be something going on. If he wasn’t high he had to be doing something that was a lot of fun. He wasn’t so happy, a lot of his laughter was forced.” – Shock G. It is only natural for someone who is not happy and under pressure to discuss death.
For Tupac, rapping was his release, to get whatever it was off his chest. It’s not surprising he completed all these tracks. Tupac wanted to do more then any other man in the business. In his behind the scenes interview when he’s doing a cover shoot for All Eyez On Me, he says “Im gonna touch every level, and everything. i dont wanna burn out, i wanna be forever, eternal. I wanna be here forever, when im gone i want my name to be here. So to do that, i gotta do more then just the average man would do. i gotta set a mark that nobody can touch " – Pac. He planned on retiring early. One can already see that he was expanding his career to movies, which he starred in about 6 before he died. He started a family restaurant; he wanted to be a person owning stock in Death Row, and being a producer on death row, releasing albums as he pleased. He would set a new standard, similar to any great rock and roll legend today. He didn’t want to be in the rap game his whole life, he only expected to be into it until his early 30s. Naturally he was recording as much as possible while he was still young because he wanted to get it all on paper, he wanted to be more then just a single man. He wanted to live after his death, he wanted to his name to be here. It looks like he accomplished that.

A: Better Dayz was the sixth posthumous album released by Afeni Shakur under Amaru Records. This is a sample from an earlier interview with Tupac. This is just another marketing trick for people to misinterperet it to boost up album sales. Again this is not recorded from Tupac after his death, it is a clip from an interview before he died.

Jada Pinkett Smith donated $1 Million Dollars toward the Baltimore School For Arts!

Jada Pinkett Smith just made history at the school she and Tupac attended, generously donating $1 million earmarked for renovation and expansion.

Jada Pinkett Smith offered the funds from her Baltimore-based charity, the Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation. The couple had previously donated $112,500 to the Baltimore school.

Pinkett Smith's donation is the largest ever from a graduate of the BaltimoreSchool for the Arts. The school has announced plans to name their new theater after her, however Pinkett Smith has requested that the theater be dedicated to her late friend and former classmate Tupac Shakur.

"She knew how brilliant he was and just thought it was only fitting to dedicate it to him," Karen Banfield Evans, Pinkett Smith's aunt and executive director of the Smith Family Foundation told the Associated Press.

This latest donation will go towards a $30 million expansion that is expected to be complete by the fall of 2007. In addition to renovating a nearby brownstone mansion for classroom and rehearsal space, the expansion will provide the school with two dance studios, two science laboratories, four new classrooms, a lecture hall, six theater practice rooms, two theater rehearsal rooms, a scene shop, labs for digital photography and music production and a theater that seats 90 which will be named in honor of Jada Pinkett Smith. The expansion will allow the school to increase enrollment from 316 to 375 students. BaltimoreSchool for the Arts is also planning to increase stage production and instrumental music programs.

"She credits the School for the Arts for really giving her her start and was impressed by the things they've been doing and the way they've grown," Evans told the Associated Press. "When they came up with this (expansion campaign) and all they're doing, she felt like this is what she needed to do."

ASHANTI found herself in the right place at the right time when producer LT was finishing off late rap legend TUPAC SHAKUR's latest album - and got the chance to 'record' with her hero. The singer begged to feature on PAC'S LIFE, which is part of the legacy of rhymes and unfinished material Shakur left after his death in September 1996, after she was treated to a sample in the studio. Ashanti recalls, "I was recording my album... Right place, right time. They actually had the record done already and they were coming to the studio to play the mix, so I heard the record and I'm like, 'This is hot. I need to be on this record.'" Ashanti took time out of recording her own new album to add vocals to the new Tupac release - and then accepted an invitation to visit the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation Peace Garden in Georgia to shoot the video with rapper TI. She adds, "I can't even believe that he's been gone for 10 years; it doesn't feel like that. His spirit just flows throughout the industry."

I guess Pacs Life Albums sold well due to black friday and thanksgiving and the sales made his album a ridiculously low price of only $9.99 at your local FYE or many other stores. At such a low price its worth it, even if it is really only 7 new songs. I think circuit City and Best buy also have the new tupac album for about $9.99.

To clarify for many, the dear mama remix was produced back in 2004 and appeared on DJ MarvLS Mixtape. This is for most people a "new" track but has been previously released. Everyone's heard this already, club banger - not really Pac's style. 6/10

Popish beat. Not too bad, wasn't really feeling it, the original is much better! 4/10

Dumpin' - (Feat. Papoose, Hussein Fatal & Carl Thomas)
Here we go! This song is hot, the beat fits Pac's style. It brings back memories of Hail Mary. Carl Thomas does a good job on the hook while Papoose and Fatal rip up the track. One of the highlights of the album. 8/10

Play Ya Cards Right (Female) - (Feat. Keyshia Cole)
Decent. It's really refreshing to hear Pac's lyrics in CDQ. This song is a little RNB-ish, but it surprised me, I like it. 7/10

Whatz Next - (Feat. A3 & Jay Rock)
Hmm. Well, I'm a fan of the original Whatz Next, but this isn't too bad. My expectations for this album and this song were quite low, but this song is not bad at all. The hook is really good I think, and the guest appearances aren't too bad. 7/10

Sleep - (Feat. Young Buck & Chamillionaire)
Tupac spits fire on this track, but we've all heard the OG so we all know that. I'm not a fan of Young Buck or Chamillionaire, this track could have been much better. The beat doesn't really fit the lyrics. 5/10

International - (Feat. Nipsey Hustle & Young Dre The Truth)
One of the low points of the album. It uses 'World Wide Dime Pieces' lyrics, with some very low quality guest appearances. The beat is really missing something too. Not a good song. 3/10

Don't Sleep - (Feat. Lil' Scrappy, Nutso, Yaki Kadafi & Storm)
Here we go again! Another good song, of course Pac comes in with an amazing verse, and it's great to hear Nutso, Kadafi and Storm back on a Pac track! Lil Scrappy stops this song from bein' my favorite on the album. 8/10

Soon As I Get Home - (Feat. Yaki Kadafi)
Mmmmm, remastered original. I, along with hundreds of other die hard 2Pac fans have been waiting for this song in CDQ for years! It's an amazing song, and with Kadafi on it, it just gets better. Here we go, the big 10/10.

Play Ya Cardz Right (Male) - (Feat. Ludacris & Keon Bryce)
Not too bad. I like this more than the Female version, it seems a little less RNB. Keon Bryce gives it a good hook, and Luda comes with a nice verse. Once again, I'm just excited to hear this song in CDQ. 7.5/10

Jesus, enough guest appearances for you? Good beat, and it's nice to hear 2Pac diss C. Delores Tucker and Bob Dole in CDQ :D. Overall it's a pretty good song, I enjoyed it! 8/10

Pac's Life (Remix) - (Feat. Snoop Dogg, T.I & Chris Starr)
Answer me this, how the f*ck are you going to have a remix song that sounds exactly like the other one on the album? I thought it was the same song until I heard the hook done by someone a little different. Snoops verse is okay. I don't like this song though. 4/10

Untouchable - (Feat. Yaki Kadafi, Hussein Fatal & Gravy)
Okay, now for all you alive theorists! The ending to Better Dayz is NOT an alive theory. The intro to this song is great, Pac basically calling out anyone who talks shit on the record to call him if they're ever in town, and ah, the famous, "Expect me nigga" words. I like this version of Untouchable alot more than the Swizz Beatz version. Great song! 9/10

Overall, I give this album a 7.5/10. Is it as good as it could be? No. Is it better than Loyal to the Game? Yes. I can't wait to pick up this album!
